What is the laryngitis ????
-Laryngitis is an inflammation of your voice box (larynx) from overuse, irritation or infection.
-Inside the larynx are your vocal cords — two folds of mucous membrane covering muscle and cartilage.
-Normally, your vocal cords open and close smoothly, forming sounds through their movement and vibration.
◆◆But in laryngitis, your vocal cords become inflamed or irritated. This swelling causes distortion of the sounds produced by air passing over them.
-As a result, your voice sounds hoarse. In some cases of laryngitis, your voice can become almost undetectable.
★ماهو التهااب الحنجرة ؟؟؟؟
-التهاب الحنجرة هو تورم الحنجرة وانتفاخها نتيجة عدوى فيروسية في معظم الأحيان أو بكتيرية أو بسبب استخدام الأحبال الصوتية بشكل قوي و شديد ، ويصاحبه بحة او فقدان في الصوت وينقسم الى قسمين إما أن يكون حادا لبضعة ايام أو مزمنا يتجاوز بضعة اسابيع .
★ ما هي أعراض التهاب الحنجرة ؟؟؟؟
- ارتفاع درجة الحرارة ( الحمى)
- صعوبة البلع , تناول الطعام وصعوبة التنفس في بعض الاحيان
- ألم الحلق و حكة
- جفاف الحلق
- سعال جاف
1-mild to moderate case...الحالات البسيطة إلى المتوسطة
★★Treatment:-"العلاج"
1-inhalation of volatile oils...إستنشاق الزيوت الطيارة
Ex:-
◆◆vapozol inhalation solution
Contains"peppermint ,camphor , eucalyptus ,tincture benzoin"
◆◆practical dose:-
-One teaspoonful to be dissolved in acup of hot water for inhalation /8 hours
الجرعة بتكون بإذابة معلقة صغيرة من المحلول في كوب من الماء الساخن واستنشاقه وتكرر كل 8 ساعات
2-cortisone
Ex:-solu-cortef vial
3-prophylactic antibiotic.....مضاد حيوي وقائي
-as the upper respiratory tract "URT" is commonly infected by +ve Gm bacteria
"streptococci - staphylococci ...." soooo
-give antibiotic acting mainly on +ve gm bacteria ex:- "beta lactamase inhibitors - cephalosporins 1st &2nd generations - macrolide"
-بما أن إصابة الجزء العلوي من الجهاز التنفسي في الغالب من البكتيريا موجبة الجرام إذن يفضل أن نعطي مضاد حيوي تعمل على هذا النوع من البكتيريا .
Ex:-
1-Augmentin 1gm ..contains "amoxicillin +clavulanic acid"
"Beta lactamase inhibitor"
◆dose :-one tablet twice daily...قرص كل 12 ساعة
2-zithromax 250 mg..contains "azithromycin"
"Macrolide"
◆dose:-twice tablet once daily on empty stomach...قرصين مرة واحدة في اليوم يفضل على معدة فارغة
3-oxygen inhalation
4-minimal disturbance to the baby
2-severe critical case...الحالات الشديدة والحرجة
★★treatment...العلاج
1-sympathomimetics
Ex:-adrenalin
◆practical dose:-
-one ampoule of adrenalin is diluted in 9 ml saline given by 0.1 ml / kg
-الجرعة بتكون بتخفيف امبول من الادرينالين في 9 مل محلول ملح ويعطى بمقدار 0.1 مل لكل كجم
2-tracheostoy
N.B
◆◆bronchodilators - expectorants -sedatives -opiates are contraindicated
-موسعات الشعب وطوارد البلغم ومهدئات السعال يحذر استخدامها في التهاب الحنجرة
◆◆stridor is asure sign for diagnosis of laryngitis
-Stridor is ahigh-pitched breath sound resulting from turbulent air flow in the larynx or lower in the bronchial tree.
★★behavioral treatment:-
-إشرب السوائل الدافئة
-تجنب التدخين والتعرض لتيارات الهواء الباردة
